What does the Aqua Zone system include?
The Aqua Zone system includes:
- Aqua Zone mesh-backed vinyl wallpaper,
- primer,
- waterproofing membrane,
- wallpaper adhesive,
- protective impregnator.
All components have been selected to create a complete, compatible system that provides a durable, fully waterproof wall finish in wet areas.
How does the system work?
Step-by-step guide
- Preparing the surface – priming and smoothing the wall (1–2 hours + drying time).
- First waterproofing layer – (30 minutes + at least 6 hours of drying time).
- Second waterproofing layer – (30 minutes + 48 hours of drying time).
- Installing Aqua Zone™ wallpaper – aligning and mounting the panels (1–2 hours).
- Applying the protective varnish – two coats (1 hour + 12 hours of drying time).
- Wall fully ready – after 7 days, the entire surface reaches maximum resistance.
All products and accessories are included in the set – you do not need to purchase anything separately.

Frequently asked questions about the Aqua Zone system
Yes. At the heart of the system is vinyl wallpaper mounted on a mesh, with the entire surface protected by a special impregnator. As a result, moisture, steam, and direct contact with water pose no threat—the wallpaper retains its shape and appearance for years.
Standard wallpaper, even vinyl, is not suitable for a shower enclosure or other wet areas. Aqua Zone is a complete system—it includes primer, waterproofing, impregnator, and dedicated adhesives in addition to the wallpaper. Only the complete system provides full water resistance and durability.
Yes! Any of the more than 600 designs available from Wall Art can be prepared for wet areas. You can also provide your own graphic file and create a completely bespoke mural.
The process takes several days because each layer (primer, waterproofing, wallpaper, protective coating) must dry thoroughly to achieve its full performance. It is an investment in quality and safety—the final result is incomparable to any other solution.

No—this is one of Aqua Zone’s greatest advantages. Unlike resin coating systems, the impregnator used in Aqua Zone preserves the wallpaper’s visible texture, such as a modern concrete effect. This makes the wall waterproof while still looking beautiful.
Primarily in shower enclosures and bathrooms, but also in spas, hotels, kitchens, and other areas exposed to high humidity and contact with water. There is no need to use the Aqua Zone system around sinks or on walls that do not come into direct contact with water.
Use of the Aqua Zone system is recommended for walls directly exposed to running water, such as in a shower or beside a bathtub adjoining the wall.
The impregnator used in the system leaves a subtle, satin finish on the surface—it is neither completely matte nor glossy, creating an elegant combination of both qualities. The satin finish gives the wallpaper a refined appearance, gently enhancing the depth of the colors and the pattern’s texture while preserving its natural character.
We do not recommend combining two different materials in the middle of a wall, as this may affect the visual coherence of the arrangement. However, combining them in corners is acceptable, where the differences will be much less noticeable. It is also worth remembering that applying an impregnator gives the wallpaper a delicate satin finish, which may subtly affect its shade—meaning it may differ slightly from the color of wallpaper left untreated.
