Burgundy wallpapers - artistic designs made to measure

Burgundy is a color that is difficult to mistake for anything else. Deeper and heavier than red, warmer than purple, it brings to mind mature wine, a heavy velvet curtain, and the gathering dusk of an autumn evening. In our collection, this color rarely appears as a gentle background, because by nature it demands the leading role. Our artists use this intensity deliberately, creating compositions that are sometimes dramatic and graphic, and at other times subdued and narrative, depending on the mood ultimately intended for the wall. We adapt each design to the actual dimensions of your wall, preserving the intensity of the color regardless of the scale of the composition.

Burgundy wall wallpaper: a modern, dramatic accent

In its most striking form, burgundy appears in compositions with a sharp, graphic character: flame-like, almost fiery arrangements, geometric patterns, or simple yet powerful areas of color spread across the entire wall. This burgundy wall wallpaper works like a well-tailored suit in a bold color: it cannot go unnoticed, but with the right interior design, it looks elegant rather than loud. This is a direction for people who like interiors with character and are not afraid that the wall will be the first thing their guests notice.

Burgundy wallpaper with natural and architectural motifs

The second side of burgundy is much more tranquil: rusty, autumnal shades of the forest, architectural, almost Italian landscapes accented with deep wine tones, or cooler northern landscapes warmed by a burgundy detail. In these compositions, the color does not shout; it creates depth, as if the wall contained a layer of history rather than just one flat shade. Burgundy wallpaper in this form works well wherever you want character without necessarily seeking maximum contrast.

Burgundy wallpaper with a couple and woman motif

The collection also includes compositions with a distinctly narrative, even intimate character: subtle, painterly depictions of a couple or a solitary female figure, rendered in a deep wine palette. These compositions are closer to paintings than decorations, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and emotional intensity that is difficult to achieve with lighter colors. Burgundy wallpaper in this style works particularly well in personal spaces where it is intended to inspire conversation rather than simply decorate the wall.

Burgundy wallpaper for the living room and bedroom

In the living room, burgundy works best as a single, strong accent on one wall, surrounded by dark wood and subdued accessories that will not compete with it. You can find the full range for this room on the living room wallpaper page. In the bedroom, burgundy wallpaper requires slightly more care than lighter colors, as its intensity can overwhelm a small room. In a larger bedroom, however, especially as a feature wall behind the bed, it creates an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy that is difficult to achieve with another color. You can find more designs in this style on the bedroom wallpaper page.

Burgundy wallpapers at Wall Art

Intense colors such as burgundy can be more surprising when hung across an entire wall than any pastel shade, which is why a material sample is especially important here: it allows you to see how the color behaves in daylight and evening light before committing to such a bold choice. You can set the exact wallpaper framing yourself in the configurator on the website, and our graphic designers can help with unusual wall architecture. If the color intensity nevertheless proves more challenging than you expected, a one-time replacement guarantee applies to wallpaper made to individual order.
